“A vacationing family discovers that the secluded beach where they’re relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly, reducing their entire lives into a single day.”

They say that life is short but thus us taking it to a new level.

The premise is fascinating to me. A strange island resort with a secluded beach that seems to work outside of time as we know it. It progresses about seven years every three hours. And if you try to leave, you blackout.

Seven years every three hours. Not only would you freak out as an adult but children would experience adolescence, puberty and adulthood all in one day.

There are a lot of heavy topics in this movie and really the horror is the frailty of human life.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

As the movie progresses, we see that each person there has some severe medical condition. The resort is tied to a pharmaceutical company. The beach allows them to test the longevity of their medication in a day rather than decades.

Do the ends justify the means? If a beach like this truly existed, would the lives of the few be sacrificed to save thousands?

Imagine watching your children grow, never actually experiencing what it means to age with normal time. Imagine have sex and giving birth about thirty minutes later. Your body would go through so many cellular changes but what about your mind trying to catch up?

Watching the movie, I wonder whose reaction would mirror mine.
