“When his girlfriend becomes dangerously obsessed with a ghost she contacted using a Ouija board, Jim reluctantly joins forces with her ex-his own estranged childhood best friend-to identify and exorcise the evil spirit.”

Is it just me or did some 80’s horror movies draw their cinematography from rock music videos? Well, technically the lead actress joined those Whitesnake videos after this movie, but still.

The plot, or rather the rules of this Witchboard, seem to just shift at the whim of whatever is going on. Granted, there are some nicely shot death scenes which include a construction site fear that I’m sure a lot of workers have had.

Also, sorry for those nude shot watchers. The only time you see her naked is ever so briefly at the end.

A lot of horror movies usually involve the final girl coming into her own strength and combating whatever malevolent force is terrorizing her. But in this movie, it focuses on how helpless she is and how the two men in her life are they only ones who can figure out what’s going on.

Maybe that’s what rubbed me wrong here. Linda is beautiful and they have dozens of artful scenes with her satin robe billowing behind her, but there’s no real personality or depth to her so I don’t really care about her well being.

This movie is shot with beautiful angles but was given an ugly script.
