“After being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution and immediately returns to Haddonfield to find his baby sister, Laurie.”

Yes, this is a Rob Zombie movie. So this means there is a lot of gore and his wife will be shaking her ass. But hey, that’s now that I find really dishonoring about this remake. What irks me is that he gives Michael Myers a reason to be the way that he is.

One of the most terrifying things about Micael was that he just existed. In this version, the first act is spent depicting an abusive household and school bullies that shape him into a killer.

The shaky camera angles and extra blood splatter can’t make up for that. However, I do love Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie. She still has the good-girl quality while adding sarcastic snark.

And I can completely appreciate the irony of the sheriff being play by the one and only Brad Dourif – the iconic voice of Chucky.

Aside from the unforgivable explination in the introduction, Zombie does keep to most of the story except he ties in the Halloween 2 point of Laurie being Michael’s sister.

I don’t know if I have spoilers so much as questions. Like how did Michael know who adopted Laurie? Why did he turn on the janitor who befriended him as a kid?

And why are there so many good actors in this?
