“Chucky, the doll possessed by a serial killer, discovers the perfect mate to kill and revive into the body of another doll.”
Okay, yes. I know there is technically a Child’s Play 2 and 3 but let’s be real. The Chucky franchise took off here. While the first two sequels were just more of Chucky trying to get out of the doll, this movie actually pulls out more of the actual character development.
Not only do we see Chucky and Tiffany’s doll form come up with some of the most inventive death scenes, we’re shown how even psychos can have a love language – murder.
The whole plot is playing against two comes who seek to become lifelong partners. And while the human marriage is something normal.. the consummation of the doll wedding is both disturbing and hilarious at the same time. And maybe true love never dies, but it sure leaves a body count.
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
The cemetery scene. So many good lines. And can we mention how Tiffany quotes Bride of Frankenstein, which she was watching when Chucky killed her?
And man, you thought that you gave birth to a little demon…
