“When a team of explorers venture into the catacombs that lie beneath the streets of Paris, they uncover the dark secret that lies within this city of the dead.”

When it comes to found footage movies, this is one that I love to come back to. It mixes European mythology with modern ambition to deliver a great mix.

First off, if you have issued around claustrophobia, this may not be a good movie for you. The majority takes place in catacombs that are very confined.

The name of Nicholas Flammel may have grown popularity in the Harry Potter series but the alchemist was indeed stated o have existed and created the ultimate element – the philosopher’s stone. And it is this stone that they are searching for.

The protagonist claims that she is hoping to complete the life work of her deceased father but that doesn’t mean that doesn’t come at a price.

The various ancient riddles and traps help to keep you engaged as each character is faced with the realness of the choices in their lives.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

As above, so below is more than the title of the movie. It is the reflection we are presented with. Each person had to realize that Heaven and Hell, earth and sky, everything is based on reality that is perceived.

But how did gravity change at the end with the manhole cover?
