“A group of people are trapped in an elevator and the Devil is mysteriously amongst them.”
The old saying is that the Dvil walks among us. And in this movie, he’s come to torment some souls before dispatching them. Although, in a building that houses lawyer offices, I’m sure he could have taken out more than the few occupants in an elevator.
Looks can be deceiving and since they are trapped in a confined space where they are being tormented, tru colors are bound to show themselves. It also allows for hysterical paranoia to run rampant.
And only one poor security guard watching the video feed believes that the Devil is behind it all. Rightly so, no one is believing him until the third act. Because if they believed right away, this movie would have been done quote differently.
SPOILERS FROM HERE
Okay, so I hate to say it but I knew the old lady was the Devil almost right away. Because you can’t rust old ladies in horror movies. Have you noticed that?
And of course, as predicted by the security guard, there is a reason that the detective was there to witness. Shockingly (well, not really) his family’s hit-and-run iller is there to be taken out but as he confesses, the Devil loses their grip.
It’s a descent movie with great effects. And the acting is on point. But that point is predictable.
