“A research team in Antarctica is hunted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of its victims.”

Look, I will say this every time: Don’t mess with things you don’t understand! If you find a strange alien body – WALK AWAY!

Okay, we’d have no really good alien movies if people did that.

Watching the beginning of this was very hard because of the dogs. Kill and hurt people all you want but innocent animals? Uh, gut wrenching. So if you’re an animal lover, beware.

Once you get passed that, it becomes a “who can you trust” type of film but you can’t even trust yourself. You don’t even know if you were the Things until you were threatened with harm.

The practical effects are amazing and to put that they were done in the 80’s makes them even more impressive. Add on top of that some great acting and a pretty solid plot and you have a great film.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

The ending… do they ever get rescued> Did the final two survivors become the Thing? This was actually my first time watching so I may have to do an update later.
