“In Italy, a woman becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism.”
Psychosis or possession? When all you know is that your mother killed three people when you were a child and is hidden away in an insane asylum in Italy… we now have a found footage film!
The documentary crew ventured to Rome to not only visit her mother bit to look at the Catholic Church’s stance on exorcism. I like how they talk about possession being misdiagnosed mental disorders. While we can guess, since this is a work of fiction, it’s going to involve possess but it’s noteworthy that they acknowledged how mental illness was turned against people for so long.
Are we genetically going to be evil? Does a possessed parent mean that demon is going to be more inclined to keep it in the family?
This movie is mostly about “is possession real” but it also touches on how we come to grips with where we come from.
SPOILERS FROM HERE
Okay, this is another movie I tend to watch when I can because the documentary style filming shows the downward spiral each character takes down to the suicide and demon transferrence.
And I like that it’s not all a neat little bow. How did the driver get influenced? Did they survive the crash? Is there more?
