The haunted place in the woods housed a demon that possessed a popular girl who happens to attend a private Catholic school. And her BFF is the mousy zit faced outcast. It’s every 80’s trope right off the bat.

And it also speaks to why women don’t speak about sexual assault. When her best friend tries to get her help because she believed there was rape, she is bet with the unflinching wall of “Don’t stain Gretchen’s reputation.”

Then the demon possessed Gretchen uses teen insecurities to torture such as queer feelings or female body image.

And the exorcist assisting is an 80’s body builder who pumps you up for the Lord.

A Jewish teen uses a Catholic bible to try to banish a demon… I mean, this movie is fun to look at for flashbacks but eh.
