“Ginger’s sister Brigitte, now a werewolf herself, must try to find a cure for her blood lust before the next full moon while hiding out in a rehab clinic from a relentless werewolf.”
While the first movie may have set the tone and the rules, this is one sequel that almost surpasses its predicessor.
So many metaphors, so many questions and so many fears. The majority of the movie takes place in a rehab facility because they believe the injections are a form of drug abuse rather than her treatment for lycanthropy.
Does the end justify the means? The orderly who holds his stashes for sexual favors reflects our wants verses needs. People can feed off of insecurities no matter how “safe” the environment.
Then there is the psychosis of a child’s overactive imagination. “Ghost” feeds her imagination with horror comics and longs to bring them to reality.
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
Oh how the twists arise. Ghost is more than just some orphaned creative imagination. She set fire to her own grandmother, framed the orderly for molestation and devised a plan to become the queen of a werewolf.
And poor Bridget. After killing the other werewolf (who I’m thinking is the boy Ginger infected from the first movie) she begs for death rather than a life as a monster.
But Ghost has other plans.
I love this movie.
