“After an experimental bio-weapon is released, turning thousands into zombie-like creatures, it’s up to a rag-tag group of survivors to stop the infected and those behind its release.”

The Grindhouse double feature had to give us one of the gory, exploitation 70’s style drive in movies. To which have the grainy, puss filled, go-go dancing exhibition of Planet Terror.

Some big names make an appearance in this film adding to the brilliant dialog and cinematic amazing effects. Rodriguez gave the film a gritty feel, even distorting the film more when major gore events were about to happen.

And you have to love the “missing reel.”

There are so many good one-liners coupled with some spectacular scenes (like Rey’s hospital rescue of Cherry.)

There are a couple of hard to stomach scenes, not just for the gore but the death of a child. I don’t recommend this as a dinner movie.

SPOILERS FROM HERE

I was so so so messed up mad when Rey died. But then, the hand on her belly? “I never miss.” GAH! While an apocalyptic ending, it was still beautiful and hopeful.

Plus the previews gave us Machete…
