“Six tourists hire an extreme tour guide who takes them to the abandoned city Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. During their exploration, they soon discover they are not alone.”

The Chernobyl nuclear disaster was monumental. In April of 1986, the number fur reactor ruptured releasing radiation and killing 30 operators. The entire city was vacated in less than 5 minutes. Thirty years later, nature has reclaimed the area – along with some radioactive adaptations.

We follow this group of “extreme” tourists who want to trek past the armed guards into the restricted area. That is always a good idea, right?

This movie doesn’t play on the supernatural side of things as much as the conspiracy side. What are the governments hiding in these “restricted” areas?

We fear what we don’t understand and I can tell you we have only scratched that surface of what nature and radioactive fallout can do together.

SPOILERS FROM HERE

Who doesn’t think that the government wouldn’t try to study and use mutations? The roadblocks, denials and secrecy fuel tons of conspiracy theorists the world over.

But Chernobyl was banned for radioactive reasons so that means it’s legit… right?

The acting is good and the plot is newer so I say, worth a watch.
