“A family struggles for survival in a world where most humans have been killed by blind but noise-sensitive creatures. They are forced to communicate in sign language to keep the creatures at bay.”

Silence speaks more than words. When we stop our mouths, we hear nature and all its splendor. Quiet is peace.

Unless there are alien creatures who will eat you at the slightest noise.

The modern world is fraught with sounds emanating from our voice to our music, to our machinery and more. So the thought of something that hunts via sound is indeed something terrifying.

The opening sequence breaks several of the stereotypical horror tropes, including the death of a child. But it shows that this world does not abide the rules of man.

Aside from the shock of the opening scene, this movie seems to have a slow burn feel. There is always an outlying tension but the progress of the film is just daunting to me.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

Noise attracts them and noise hurts them. It seems like an oxymoron but as I happen to be someone who is sensitive to high frequencies, I get it.

This movie is a unique concept but I feel like it could have been flushed out better.
