“After her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos.”
When in doubt, bring back the master. Don Mancini brings Chucky back with not only Brad Dourif but his daughter, Fiona!
This movie is not only good murders from our favorite psychotic doll, but it pulls in some of the history behind Charles Lee Ray. The protagonist is also a paraplegic which gives yet another minority a starring role. Mancini doesn’t hand you the typical horror movie characters.
Including the nanny twist! We’re used to the husbands sleeping with them but what happens when the wife is secretly into that hot little piece of booty?
Family dynamics play a large roll as the mother dies in the beginning allowing the tension between the two sisters complete a backdrop to the murders.
SPOILERS FROM HERE
Thank you, Don Mancini, for giving us a look into some of Chucky’s past. Nica’s disability is a direct result of these actions which makes it known that although Chucky the doll may have a few unresolved victims, Charles Lee Ray the man was around before then.
There are some questions that I have from the Chucky series that tangle with some of the flashbacks in the movie but… we’ll see.
