“A woman returns to her childhood home to discover that the imaginary friend she left behind is very real and unhappy that she abandoned him.”
What is completely adorable about this review is that it wouldn’t be possible to do with out my little nephew wanting to see this movie. I thought I was going to be in for some joke of a film.
There is a widely held belief in many cultures that children are more susceptible to paranormal phenomenon due to their unclouded nature and that we lose that as modern society purges us of beliefs. So, this movie asks the question: Are those imaginary friends really just imaginary?
Brining the imaginary into the demonic nor such a far stretch. The entity is wanting to feed on the limitless possibilities of a child’s mind. No restrictions. Just a bounty of purity.
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
I loved the plot twist that Jess was able to see the bear because Chauncey used to be her imaginary friend and he lured her to him with Alice.
But I feel the ending leaves you guessing. Something in my head tells me that they may not have really left the never ever.
What do you think?
