“After a group of criminals kidnap the ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, they retreat to an isolated mansion, unaware that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”
I don’t personally have kids. They can require so man things. For one thing, they have certain dietary needs. Although, probably not like this.
This movie lends itself more to being a horror comedy than a thrill, plain and simple. Which actually, to me, made it way more enjoyable. Take a varied group of criminals, each with their own specialty and send them to kidnap a child… no wait.
Lure them to be fodder to a mischievous child vampire. There. That’s better.
The cast plays into their roles perfectly and the cinematography lends to the vampire’s graceful ballerina persona. But there is actually a deeper undertone about parents and children
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
In the end, all we want is the affection of our parents. We want their approval and their acceptance. And to have this be the one common thread that saves our protagonist is truly a stroke of genius.
