“6 months after the incidents involving the lethal videotape, new clues prove that there is a new evil lurking in the darkness.”
Okay, firstly, LOVE the opening scene because that smug punk got what he deserved,
The dead never sleep. I feel like this movie poses more questions than it really answers. We pick up six months after the events of the first movie to Rachel and her some moved away from the big city life in Seattle to one of the quieter islands to the north.
But the tape they had copied has resurfaced with Samara saying “I found you.” She’s somehow bonded with our protagonist, seeing her as some form of mother figure. Most likely because she was the one who freed her physical remains. But other than Samara trying to possess the son, there’s no real story or plot progress.
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
Let’s just put it out there – Please don’t try to drown your kid if you think they’re possessed.
It was nice that they tied it all back to the well but there was no real surprise. Eh. I’ll see that the Japanese version did instead.
