“When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.”
(Gore is mostly towards the end and minimal)
YES! It has been a while since I have a five duck review.
The opening lays it out straight forward: Kids are missing. They walked out on their own. They were all in one teacher’s class. And no one knows why or how. Then the movie moves into multiple POV’s on what happens next.
TENSION! I love it! At first, you think that the “Weapons” are our own minds. After all, when paranoia and fear run abundant, people do stupid things. The poor teacher is stalked, harassed and even has her car tagged with “witch.” But then over and over, you have to wonder about how these kids just walked out on life and vanished!
And can we talk about the fact that Dr. Block/Thanos/Cable is in this? (Love you Josh Brolin!)
Yes, there is some witch-like stuff involved and normally I don’t like that sort of thing but this… this was amazing.
SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT
We are all subject to our fears of mortality. And who has the most life to give? Kids. But who else holds the power to control that life? Kids. They also have the ability to learn and adapt. So just be careful about those kids you’re raising, because they can snatch that power and turn it right back on you….
