“When two girls disappear into the woods and return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, the father of one girl seeks out Chris MacNeil, who’s been forever altered by what happened to her daughter fifty years ago.”

Oh, I had such high hopes. I really did. It had been some time since someone had attempted to tackle the Exorcist franchise and I had hoped that this wouldn’t just be a money grab.

Sadly,,,

Sometimes you need a slow burn but there should be that little piece of plot that keeps you waiting for more. Here, it was almost halfway through the movie before they even brought in the connections to the original and that small connection is Regan’s mother for maybe fifteen minutes of the movie.

It just boils down to a basic possession movie that has no connection to the original cast of characters or the original demon.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

So the one they choose to save is the one taken to Hell. At least is wasn’t going to be all stereotypical and sacrificing the POC.
