“Six complete strangers with widely varying personalities are involuntarily placed in an endless maze containing deadly traps.”

There was a bit of a boom in the gore-ified horror in the 90’s while I was a teenager and it ushered in some more chances to take a plot and give it a new level. So, we mix gore and suspense to get a movie like this: Minimal scenery, good acting and lots of questions.

There area six sides to a cube and seven strangers have to figure out what side connects to what side. And all of the people have drastically different personalities. So why were they chosen? What is the purpose of solving the Cube? How did they get there?

There become many threats as to how to survive as they trek through each cube. Some traps ranging from simple motion sensors to prime numbers and beyond.

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT

In the end, you always end up where you started. But what was the point to it all? The one survivor heads into a light… to what?

Gah!

I love movies that make me think.

They never tell you exactly what the Cube was designed for. The sequel sucked but expect a review for the prequel – Cube Zero.
